- You might want to consult the Muettersproch-Gsellschaft; also, I added another term, Mittelalemannisch. --Apisite (talk) 08:16, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

American/US Spanish
editWhen you moved this category, you left behind several entries, e.g. 3-1-1. Can you please fix this? —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 17:45, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
How we will see unregistered users
editHi!
You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.
If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.
We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.
Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

Middle French patte
editCould you remember where you got Middle French patte from? TLFi says the word is attested from the 1680–90's on (which we treat as modern French per WT:AFRM) and mentions no form with a final -e. Catonif (talk) 21:10, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
- I removed the form. Just thought I'd mention it here. Catonif (talk) 21:26, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Catonif: Thanks for removing it. And I don't remember, but it was definitely copied from somewhere else; I was consolidating descendants sections rather at the time. Linshee ☺ ☆ 23:21, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
Kildin as one of descendants of курва
editIn 2019 you added Kildin Sami to descendants of курва. I didn't find this word in any source I know, where is it from? Kaarkemhveel (talk) 18:00, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
Hey, I am an Estonian speaker, and as I was adding the page for this Estonian word, I noticed that the German (and Cimbrian) word has two wildly different meanings, "hut", and "cottage". Does the German word really mean both of these things? Or am I misunderstanding the English word "hut"? In Estonian, "hütt" refers to a shoddily constructed and low-quality dwelling, associated with poor farmers. As I understand this maps pretty neatly to the English word "hut". But the German and Cimbrian pages both imply that "hut" and "cottage" refer to basically the same thing. Or are "hut" and "cottage" actually synonyms in English? L2 intuition is often wrong and I might just be confused here. Strombones (talk) 20:34, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
