Welcome

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk (discussion) and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to one of the discussion rooms or ask me on my Talk page.

Did you know that Wiktionary can be adapted to fit your style? Go have a look at your personal preference page (nicknamed “PREFS”)! In particular, you can choose the option to show hidden categories, which will be of great help if you are looking for work to do.

Again, welcome! --Ivan Štambuk 11:05, 7 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Adding translations

edit

Hi! Wiktionary uses full language name in translation boxen instead of templates with ISO code (i.e. German instead of de (but even if you do use ISO code templates, AutoFormat bot will transclude them, sou you might wanna save it the effort in the first place). Also, interwiki links are for the pages with identical spelling, not for translations of individual meanings. English page [[static]] should link to de:[[static]], not de:[[statisch]]. endo-

edit

My edit wasn't "mess"; it was the removal of redundancy. (deprecated template usage) Endo- is just an SOP compound of end- + -o- (as I indicated); this is evidenced by endarch, endarterectomy, endarteritic, endarteritis, endaspidean, and thrombendarteriectomy — all of which feature (deprecated template usage) end-, and none of which feature (deprecated template usage) -o-.  — Raifʻhār Doremítzwr ~  · ⓣ  ·  ~ 23:31, 15 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
