Voorste Diesdonk
DutchEdit
EtymologyEdit
First attested as Voorste Diesdonk in 1838-1857. Derived from voorst (“forwardmost”) and a compound toponym composed of an unclear first element (perhaps related to dialectal dies (“fog, mist”)) and donk (“sandy hill protruding above a swamp”). The element voorst was added to distinguish the settlement from Achterste Diesdonk.
