Inherited from Ottoman Turkish طوغمه بیومه (doġma büyüme),[1][2] from طوغمق (doġmaḳ) and بیومك (büyümek),[3][4] equivalent to doğ- (to be born) +‎ -ma (verbal noun suffix) +‎ büyü- (to grow, to become large, to age) +‎ -me (verbal noun suffix).
