geo- +‎ imputation

Noun edit

geo-imputation (uncountable)

  1. The process of replacing missing values for exact geographical locations with approximate locations derived from associated data.
If a person's census tract is known but no other address information is available, then geo-imputation may be used to assign that person to a smaller geographic area, such as a census block group.
