editEllipsis of Isten veled van (“God is with you”) or Isten legyen veled (“may God be with you”), from isten (“God”) + veled (“with you”).

- Doesn't imply any religious affiliation or belief.
- The form of the pronoun veled changes depending on the situation, though the formal variants are lesser used, with the formal plural being practically non-existent only in older literature:
