From Proto-Celtic *kebno- (back), from Pre-Celtic *kebn-, which could be related to *kambos (crooked, bent).[1] Related to Breton kein (back), Cornish keyn (back), Gaulish Cebenna (ridge, height) (whence French Cévennes).
