From Proto-Khasian *ktiː, from Proto-Mon-Khmer *t₁iiʔ. Cognate with Pnar kti, Lyngngam ktei, and also Khmer ដៃ (day), Mon တဲ (tay), Pacoh ati, Bahnar ti, Bolyu ti⁵⁵, Riang [Lang] tiʔ¹.[1]
