Mediopassive form of përul (to bend (over), bow (down)); përul (to bend, bow) +‎ -em (oneself) → meaning “to bow down”, a sign of respect and honor in mediopassive form. Active voice përul on the other hand can be associated with humiliation, especially the imperative form.
