- Aksjomat to pewnik względny, oparty na doświadczeniu i wystawiony pod sąd i kontrolę całego światu uczonego. Dogmat to pewnik bezwzględny, oparty na przypuszczeniu, lub nawet na nadnaturalnem [sic] objawieniu tylko, i którego nie wolno nikomu sądzić, sprawdzać, kontrolować.
