power forward (plural power forwards)

  1. (basketball) A forward who is the taller of the two forward positions, and is often responsible for scoring near the basket, collecting rebounds and blocking shots in defense.
  2. (ice hockey) A forward who is capable of both rugged physical play and scoring goals.
