Etymology edit

si- (modal) + -∅- (3rd person subject prefix) + -∅- (classifier)-jééʼ (neuter perfective stem of root -JÉÉʼ, “to lie — 3+ actors”).

Verb edit

shijééʼ

  1. they (group of 3+ animate subjects) are lying somewhere, are reclining

Usage notes edit

This verb refers to a single group of three or more. For multiple groups, use the verb naazhjééʼ.

The stem used for subjects in groups is different from the stem used for subjects acting individually or in pairs. For separate subjects, see sitį́; for two subjects together, see shitéézh.

This is a neuter verb that uses only the perfective mode.
