Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish سلاحلنمق (silaḥlanmaḳ, to arm one's self),[1][2] from سلاح (silaḥ), equivalent to silah +‎ -la +‎ -n +‎ -mak. Cognates with Azerbaijani silahlanmaq.
