Etymology edit

Inherited from Byzantine Greek σπρώχνω (sprṓkhnō), from Ancient Greek προωθῶ (proōthô) / προωθέω (proōthéō, push forward, propel) by liaison with pronouns, or from an unattested ancient *εἰσπροωθῶ (*eisproōthô).[1][2] See προωθώ (proothó) for more.
