BashkirEdit

EtymologyEdit

From *tïš (outside, exterior), which appears to be an archetype parallel to *taš (outside, exterior), which derives from Proto-Turkic *daĺ (outer side).

There is no consensus to date as to how *tïš relates to *daĺ — is the former a development of the latter or an ancient parallel archetype.
