Etymology edit

Inherited from Sanskrit उच्छलति (ucchalati) (compare उच्चलति (uccalati)). Cognate with Punjabi ਉੱਛਲਣਾ (ucchalṇā) / اُچّھَلݨا (ucchalṇā), Gujarati ઊછળવું (ūchaḷvũ), Marathi उसळणे (usaḷṇe).
