Cognate with Avestan 𐬬𐬀𐬯𐬙𐬉 (vastē), 𐬬𐬀𐬢𐬵𐬀𐬌𐬙𐬌 (vaŋhaiti), Ancient Greek ἕννυμι (hénnumi), ἐνδύομαι (endúomai), Tocharian B wäs-, Latin vestis, Albanian vesh, Old English werian (whence English wear).
