    Inherited from Prakrit 𑀲𑀼𑀓𑁆𑀔 (sukkha), from Sanskrit शुष्क॑ (śúṣka), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hsúškas, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂sews- + *-kos. Doublet of শুষ্ক (śuśko), শুঁটকি (śũṭki), শুষা (śuśa), শোষণ (śōśon), and খুশকি (khuśoki).
