Etymology

From Angkorian Old Khmer ច្រមុះ (cramuḥ, nose) (whence Modern Khmer ច្រមុះ (crɑmoh)). Displaced native Tai ดั้ง (dâng) (from earlier ดัง (dang)), which now means “nose bridge”.
