Reconstruction notes
editThis word is not phonetically attested proper in Old Japanese; it is attested to glosses in the Nihon Shoki. This reading may be further strengthened by the Wamyō Rujishō of 934, which records the readings of 水田種子 as 太奈都毛乃 (tana tu mono2), and 陸田種子 as 波多介豆毛乃.[1]
