당하다 (danghada) (infinitive 당해 or 당하여, sequential 당하니, hanja 當하다)

  1. (transitive and intransitive) to suffer or undergo something
    도난 당했습니다.
    Jeo-neun donan-eul danghaetseumnida.
    I have been robbed.
    (literally, “I suffered a theft.”)
  2. Replaces the 하다 (hada) verb suffix to create a passive.
    무시하다 > 무시당하다
    musihada > musidanghada
    to ignore > to be ignored
