The following information has failed Wiktionary's deletion process (permalink).

It should not be re-entered without careful consideration.

No such Unicode block; {{character info}} is producing this category for 𝋉, etc. because 𝋉 does not exist in Unicode yet, and as such, this codepoint is not of any block. —Fish bowl (talk) 00:59, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

From what I can gather on Wikipedia, the block is approved by the technical committee and reserved, but won't become official until the next Unicode release. That means that this category is going to evaporate sometime this year. We can either bite the bullet and make this a real block in the data, or come up with some kludge to suppress this premature categorization.
As it is, these entries are very deceptive: they refer to something that doesn't exist yet as if it already does. I'm tempted to rfv the lot, though that might mean deleting them just in time for them to become attestable. Pinging @Kwamikagami, the perpetrator. Chuck Entz (talk) 02:05, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
The block was reserved a few years ago, but characters were only assigned to it last year. I suppose it was premature for me to create the entries, though as you said they'll be reality within in few months, and this way Wikt well have entries for them when they're published. Perhaps they could be tagged as 'forthcoming'?
If you decide to delete, please let me know and I'll copy them so that I can easily recreate them when they are published. Or perhaps the deletion could be reversed at that time. kwami (talk) 02:59, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm tempted to say that we should temporarily delete them and then reverse that once approval has gone through. There is a (slim but possible) chance that codepoints may change or the release may be delayed, for example. Theknightwho (talk) 16:56, 27 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Delete - given it's obviously an error. Let's also update the relevant module to add pages to a maintenance category in this instance, as we shouldn't be adding any pages for codepoints not yet in a Unicode block. Theknightwho (talk) 11:20, 27 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Keep - this is clearly already the maintenance category! Though I'm not sure we shouldn't catalogue non-characters - they aren't all Arabic presentation forms. --RichardW57 (talk) 20:16, 10 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
The issue is that these codepoints don't yet exist in the Unicode standard, and we can't assume they'll have a given identity until it's actually published (which will be next month, I think). Theknightwho (talk) 21:57, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Deleted as an empty category for now. To me it seems that the problem here is not the category, but the entries that are (were) in it. This, that and the other (talk) 05:22, 25 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
