Kannkind n (strong, genitive Kannkindes or Kannkinds, plural Kannkinder)
- a child who may but need not be sent to primary school in a given year, depending mainly on the parents’ decision
Usage notes edit
- In Germany, Kannkinder are especially those born in July/August, who will already have turned six when the school year begins. Depending on state regulations the rule may include all those born in the second half of the year.
