Reconstruction:Proto-Germanic/grasą
Proto-GermanicEdit
EtymologyEdit
A secondary zero-grade s-stem from the root of *grōaną and *grōniz, from Proto-Indo-European *gʰreh₁- (“to grow, become green”). It cannot be directly from *gʰr̥h₁-s-, where the syllabic sonorant would result in *gurs-.
