Attn This, that and the other, Please move to Ἑρμῆς ἐπεισελήλυθε (Hermês epeiselḗluthe) Initially created, with no accent on the second word, and no polytonic system for the first word.

  • 1) (attn Mahāgaja, please check:) It is the Hellenistic expression "Ἑρμῆς ἐπεισελήλυθε" = literally: "‘Hermes is come in’, a saying used when conversation suddenly ceased, Plu. 2.502f"[1] with Ἑρμῆς (Hermês) and perfect tense ἐπεισελήλυθε of verb ἐπεισέρχομαι (epeisérkhomai) < ἐπ(ί)-εἰς-ἔρχομαι.
  • 2) If mentioned in current texts, it might be written in monotonic (as it happens for quoted ancient texts, Ερμής επεισελήλυθε, for easy typing). There is no need to duplicate ancient expressions in monotonic with redirects, unless they are still in use in Standard Modern Greek (this one is quite rare).

RexSueciae, thank you for the expression. ‑‑Sarri.greek  I 13:15, 15 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
