Calque of -s
edit@Dine2016 Here are a couple more:
- 人们不得不担心大批的布什们、梅杰们、克林顿们、布莱尔们追随于这两个伟人之后
- 奥巴马们不接受网络监督,就只能自毁网络形象,就可能导致政治生涯的曲折和终结
- 我也相信,在大马,除了尼查外,还有更多的奥巴马们。想赶上时代朝流的政党,“抹黑、抹红、抹黄”的伎俩都不太管用了,不妨多招揽这些最能体现民族大融合的奥巴马们到麾下吧。
They are obviously a calque of -s in English. The sentences sound somewhat weird, though. Wyang (talk) 21:05, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
Vernacular Written Form
editThere is a Taiwanese-used vernacular form of 们 which can be seen on this page: [1]. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 23:10, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Geographyinitiative Looks like the alternate form of 门 seen the image at 门#Japanese. —Granger (talk · contribs) 23:24, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
Plural or collective?
editThe linguist Robert Iljic argues that 們 is actually a collective suffix, and suggests that the reason it's often said to be a plural suffix might be because of misleading analogies with Western languages. —Granger (talk · contribs) 23:23, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
