Talk:AA

I don't think AA is an abbreviation in the case of batteries... but what is it? Also I don't think it's an English use but a universal one. Hippietrail 04:05, 4 Feb 2004 (UTC)

I think this subject has come up before, but I can't find where. I'd be inclined to classify this as a "symbol", perhaps under "translingual" like the chemical symbols. -- Ortonmc 04:20, 4 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Rfv-sense - Armed Forces Americas. What is this/ — lexicógrafa | háblame02:17, 18 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

It's an abbreviation used by the United States Postal Service; just as "MI" is Michigan and "OH" is Ohio, "AA" denotes "Armed Forces Americas", i.e. American armed forces in the Americas, minus the U.S., minus Canada. See United States Postal Service - Abbreviations. It may be possible to "cite" this in some fashion, but I think we should simply keep it without worrying about cites. It's the only official abbreviation for that, so it surely appears on the vast majority of letters sent to applicable destinations. —RuakhTALK 02:56, 18 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Striking: de-tagged by nominator. DCDuring (talkcontribs) has added one quotation, by the way. —RuakhTALK 15:58, 22 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

"Side AA" on a record (double A-side) edit

What does this mean? How does it differ from a B-side? Equinox 15:56, 2 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

copypasta edit

What does AA mean in this link[1]? It appears in our entry for copypasta as a citation. Overlordnat1 (talk) 09:17, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
