From Wikipedia:

A crush is a short-lived and unrequited love or infatuation, prevalent among teenagers. A crush also refers to the object of this infatuation.

It seems not all the noun senses here are necessary. If they are, they're really badly worded. 4, for example, links to a verb form. -- Liliana 04:36, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I have no idea what #4 means, but everything else seems more or less ok. Mglovesfun (talk) 21:47, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Unclear noun sense distinction edit

What is the difference between "violent pressure, as of a moving crowd" and "a violent crowding"? I was going to merge them, but they have different translations in Finnish. Equinox 14:24, 26 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Rfv-sense "To feel infatuation with or unrequited love for", outside of crush on.__Gamren (talk) 22:52, 20 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

cited. I'm sure there are more (and probably better) quotes out there, but this is a very difficult one to search for because of all of the other meanings of crush. Kiwima (talk) 00:14, 21 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, that seems in order.__Gamren (talk) 23:54, 21 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Can confirm "I was crushing at the time" etc. is definitely real. I see the indefatigable Kiwima has come up with the goods already. Equinox 00:34, 22 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
