User:Mellohi!/Old Irish terms with œ

There are several words in Old Irish whose first vowel tends to vascillate between the spellings au, ai, e, i, and u. This initial vowel has been hypothesized to be /œ/ or /æ/ and arose from the u-infection of a of a u that came before a palatalized consonant, in addition to appearing where the prefix ar- is followed by fo- (with fo- being lost).
