JA headers

Re: your suggestion here, Definitions isn't used anywhere else in JA entry structure, while Etymology has been used as standard for many years as the top-most L3 header for most purposes, across all languages. Moreover, sometimes the particular alternative form may have etymological information that wouldn't really fit under a Definitions header. In the interests of consistency, both with other non-JA entries and within JA entries themselves, I feel that Etymology is more appropriate.

@Eirikr: Chinese editors use Definitions to separate {{zh-see}} from preceding text, such as an etymology or glyph origin. (But if {{zh-see}} is directly preceded by ==Chinese== the ===Definitions=== is omitted.)

(BTW) To continue an earlier discussion: In Japanese school grammar the て after verbs and adjectives is also a "particle" (助詞), although "auxiliary word" is a better translation. Adopting Japanese school grammar for a consistent description of all stages of Japanese is a good idea, but if people want to list て as a suffix, maybe we should adapt instead of adopt (e.g. by listing our deviations on WT:AJA). --Nyarukoseijin (talk) 06:04, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

Unification

@Geographyinitiative: Thanks. I feel it's most straightforward to just create the L2 headers for the non-Mandarin languages, without regard to what to do with the existing "Chinese" content. My proposal was not well worded so I withdrew it. --Nyarukoseijin (talk) 14:30, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Looks like I missed you. I also missed your draft on your user page, which I ran across just today when I saw that you'd blanked that. TBH, I've been quite overwhelmed by things IRL, and my time here has been more sporadic of late -- and I haven't been able to go through my notifications list, which has gotten ridiculously long.
