From Javanese ꦕꦺꦭꦺꦁ (cèlèng, wild boar, piggy bank) (compare to Balinese ᬘᬾᬮᬾᬂ (céléng, pig)), from Old Javanese celeṅ (pig, boar), probably from Austroasiatic Proto-Mon-Khmer *liik, *lik (pig) (compare to Old Mon cliṅ (pig)).
