cyflym
Welsh
editEtymology
editPronunciation
edit- (North Wales) IPA(key): /ˈkəvlɨ̞m/
- (South Wales) IPA(key): /ˈkəvlɪm/
Adjective
editcyflym (feminine singular cyflym, plural cyflym, equative cynted or cyflymed, comparative cynt or cyflymach, superlative cyntaf or cyflymaf)
Usage notes
editAs well as the irregular forms above, cyflym has more colloquial alternatives to the comparative and equative degrees, cyflymach and cyflymaf respectively. These are frequently used, especially due as the forms above have several meanings, e.g. cynted can mean "faster" or "as soon", cyntaf means "fastest" or "first".
