From Common Turkic *köre (“according to”), related to gör (“to see”). Cognate with Azerbaijani görə, Gagauz and Turkish göre, Turkmen görǟ; also Uyghur [script needed] (körä), Uzbek koʼra, Bashkir and Tatar күрә (kürä), Kyrgyz көрө (körö).
