købe
Danish edit
Etymology edit
From Old Danish køpæ (“buy, purchase”), from Old Norse kaupa, past tense keypta, from Proto-Germanic *kaupōną, *kaupijaną, cognate with German kaufen and Dutch kopen. The Germanic verb is probably a loan from Latin caupō (“tradesman”).
