- (computing) One million (106, or 1,000,000) bits or 1,000 kilobits. Equals 125,000 bytes (125 kilobytes).
- 1965, Field Engineering Theory of Operation 2311 Disk Storage Drive, IBM, pages 3–27:
- When reading clock pulses only, the signal frequency is 625 kHz. The bit rate, however, is twice the signal frequency, or 1.25 megabits/sec.
- (computing) a mebibit.
