Usage notesEdit

  • Can be used to convert some adverbs into adjectives: see the latter example above. In such cases, oleva is dropped when such an adjective is used predicatively.
    Bussi on myöhässä.The bus is late.
  • Can be used with present passive participles in inessive plural (allative plural for some verbs) to represent "-able" (able to be X'ed). As in the above case, oleva is then dropped if used predicatively.
