editBorrowed from a Chuvash-type Turkic language before the times of the Hungarian conquest of the Carpathian Basin (at the turn of the 9th and 10th centuries). Compare Bashkir орсоҡ (“spindle”), Uzbek urchuq (“spindle”).[1]
