editAffrication of earlier ڤنشين pensyen from English pension,[1] from Anglo-Norman pencione, Old French pencion, and their source, borrowed from Latin pēnsiō, pēnsiōnem (“payment, weight, rent, compensation”), from the participle stem of pendere (“to weigh”). Doublet of pensiun.
