Inherited from Ottoman Turkish یونلتمك (yönültmek),[1] equivalent to yön (direction) +‎ -el (verb-forming suffix) +‎ -t (causative voice) +‎ -mek. Cognate with Uzbek yo'naltirmoq and Azerbaijani yönəltmək.
