Perfect participle of ηλικιώνομαι (ilikiónomai), a verb only in the passive form, passive perfect participle of the Medieval Byzantine Greek ἡλικιώνω (hēlikiṓnō, “reach maturity”) and a semantic loan from French âgé.[1][2]
