тяга́ться • (tjagátʹsja) impf (perfective потяга́ться) [with с (s, + instrumental) ‘with someone’]

(colloquial, chiefly in the negative) to compete (to be better at or outdo someone)
Я не могу́ с ним тяга́ться. ― Ja ne mogú s nim tjagátʹsja. ― I can't compete with him.

С тобо́й сло́жно тяга́ться. ― S tobój slóžno tjagátʹsja. ― It's hard to compete with you.
(colloquial, figuratively) to litigate, to have legal proceedings
