From Proto-Indo-European *h₁su-, either via Proto-Iranian *hu- (good) or contaminated with it.

Prefix

  1. an intensifying particle.
    հ- (h-) + ‎սկայ (skay, giant) → ‎հսկայ (hskay, giant)
    հ- (h-) + ‎զօր (zōr, power, might) → ‎հզօր (hzōr, powerful, mighty)
    հ- (h-) + ‎մուտ (mut, entering, going in) → ‎հմուտ (hmut, skilful, experienced)
    հ- (h-) + ‎լու (lu, the act of listening) → ‎հլու (hlu, obedient)
    հ- (h-) + ‎ուրախ (urax, happy) → ‎խրախ (xrax, happy)
