From Aramaic אַפְרִיזָא (ʾap̄rīzā), פִּרְזוֹמָא / פַרִזוֹמָא (parizōmā, pirəzōmā), ܦܪܼ̈ܝܙܵܡܲܛܲܐ (pərīzōmā), from Ancient Greek περίζωμα (perízōma, girdle).
