Talk:blocked shot

This phrase is used in many sports. "Sweeney's blocked shot at goal was poked over the line by Donaldson" (football), "this principle applies to blocked shots such as a net or half volley in tennis" (tennis), "blocked shots and slices on the course" (golf). Equinox 19:58, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

(ec)I've retagged the present definition as "sports". From the way you describe it, it sounds like the golf definition is different, as the course itself blocks the shot rather than another player. And "block" is ambiguous enough for this definition to exist. Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 20:02, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
I did notice that on Wikipedia "blocked shot" goes to a basketball article. Equinox 20:05, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
Basketball tracks "blocked shot"/"block" as a statistic. Note that even though the context is sports, I added the basketball category below (and the tennis and golf ones too) Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 20:07, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
