Rationale (proposal 1): WT:EL#Entry name explains entry names in general but it does not explain sign language entry names; WT:ASGN#Entry names does. The proposal links the former to the latter, thereby making the former a more comprehensive guide on understanding entry names in Wiktionary.

Proposal 2. Adding the following text to WT:ASGN#Entry names at the end of the section. (diff)

The "Sign gloss:" namespace links to these entries using glosses as the page names: Sign gloss:FOOD links to the ASL entry FlatO@Mouth-PalmBack.[1]

Rationale (proposal 2): The "Sign gloss:" namespace was introduced in 2010 (see Wiktionary:Beer parlour/2010/July#Proposal for a new namespace: "Sign Gloss:") but WT:ASGN was not updated yet to reflect that. This proposal introduces "Sign gloss:" to the policy.
