bandelet (plural bandelets)

  1. (architecture) A small band or fillet; any little band or flat moulding, compassing a column, like a ring.
    • 1825, William Chambers, A Treatise on the Decorative Part of Civil Architecture:

  2. (computing theory) An orthonormal basis that is adapted to geometric boundaries, used in image processing.
