Etymology edit

From Latin chiliasta, possibly via French chiliaste, from Ancient Greek χιλιαστής (khiliastḗs), from χῑ́λιοι (khī́lioi, thousand) + -αστής (-astḗs, -ast, -ist: forming agent nouns). Equivalent to chilia- +‎ -ast.
