Stem κατασχ- from the subjunctive of the second aorist of Ancient Greek κατέσχον (katéskhon) of the verb κατέχω (katékhō) (in Modern Greek, "to have, it is in one's possession"), used as indicative present tense. Since 1833, a free translation of French saisir. [1]
