  1. (transitive) to divide, to separate, to isolate; to detach, to loose, to remove
    մեկնել ի ստենէmeknel i stenēto wean
    թուղթ մեկնելոյtʻułtʻ mekneloybill of divorce
  2. (transitive) to stretch, to hold out, to stretch forth
  3. (transitive) to explain, to interpret, to comment upon
    թիւր մեկնելtʻiwr meknelto interpret malignantly, to misconstrue, to put an ill construction on; to preach a perverse doctrine
  4. (mediopassive, intransitive) to separate, to disunite, to part, to get loose; to remove, to go away, to depart, to retire, to go out, to make off, to steal away
