From อสังหาริม (“immovable”) + ทรัพย์ (sáp, “thing; property”); calque of English immovable property.
Probably first used on 11 November 1923, when the first book of the Civil and Commercial Code of Thailand was promulgated.

- มาตรา ๑๓๙ อสังหาริมทรัพย์ หมายความว่า ที่ดิน และทรัพย์อันติดอยู่กับที่ดินมีลักษณะเป็นการถาวรหรือประกอบเป็นอันเดียวกับที่ดินนั้น และหมายความรวมถึง ทรัพยสิทธิอันเกี่ยวกับที่ดินหรือทรัพย์อันติดอยู่กับที่ดินหรือประกอบเป็นอันเดียวกับที่ดินนั้นด้วย
